2024 Romania Spring Break 2024 Budapest to Bucharest

After exploring Brașov, we made an overnight stop in Râșnov, a small town best known for its medieval fortress perched above the valley. But what made this visit unique was a quieter spot—the Sissi Promenade.
Queen Sisi seems to be the theme of this trip. In 1879, near the barracks of the cavalry regiment, this tree-lined promenade was created in her honor. Walking through the park, it was easy to imagine the 19th-century charm that must have inspired its dedication.
Right next to the promenade, we found a welcoming restaurant with something for everyone—local dishes, lighter bites for the kids, and plenty of space to relax. After a day of wandering, it was the perfect place to unwind and reflect on the layers of history tucked into even the smaller towns of Transylvania.
Sometimes it’s not the big castles or grand cities that stay with you, but the quiet moments—an evening walk in a park, a meal shared next to a place with a story. Râșnov offered just that.
