In early October 2021, we finally made our first trip to Greece, choosing the Ionian island of Kephalonia for a much-needed beach escape. We stayed in a beachfront house just south of Skala, where the rhythm of the waves and the open horizon set the tone for the entire trip.

Kephalonia is often quieter and less commercial than some of Greece’s more famous islands, and that was exactly what made it perfect.
