Bastogne Memorial Tour 🇧🇪

Visiting the Bastogne War Museum and the Mardasson Memorial is a powerful journey through the history of the Battle of the Bulge. The museum’s immersive exhibits, personal testimonies, and detailed battlefield maps make it easy to grasp the immense challenges faced by the soldiers who fought in the harsh winter of 1944–45. The War Room adds another layer of intensity, placing visitors in the middle of the strategic decisions that shaped the battle’s outcome.

Walking through Bastogne and its surroundings, especially Foy, brings Band of Brothers to life, particularly Episodes 5, 6, and 7. Standing near the area where Shifty Powers took out the German sniper in Episode 7 is a chilling and humbling experience. Recognizing these moments in real life makes history feel immediate, and it reinforces a deep sense of pride in being connected, even in a small way, to this legacy through my own work.
