Our trip began in beautiful Porto, where we wandered the riverside, admired the azulejo-covered buildings, and enjoyed a relaxing port wine tasting with a view of the Douro. The city’s rich flavors and laid-back charm made it easy to fall in love.

From there, we headed to the coastal gem of Costa Nova do Prado, famous for its brightly striped houses and Atlantic breeze. The highlight? A hands-on dessert class where we learned to make a traditional Portuguese egg custard in a crispy shell — a delicious treat that’s as delicate as it is addictive.

Between the sweet custards, salty air, and smooth port, this stretch of Portugal served up just the right mix of coastal calm and cultural richness.
